Large percentage of Indian population is left out of the mainstream and is acutely underprivileged.
These are mostly the people who live in distant forests and the urban slums.
Around Indore, in Jhabua, Dhar, Dewas there are 3500 tribal villages in which dwell 32 lakh vanvasis.

Also Indore has around 220 slums (sewa basti) having a population of 5 lakh. These people are deprived of the light of education, appropriate medical facilities and employment opportunities.
On one hand the country is endangered by religious conversions, cultural attack and terrorism, on the other hand untouchabilityand lack of self respect has brought the society on the verge of disintegrating and collapsing, The tribals and the slum dwellers are on target of the crocked eyed people that are involved in anti national activities.

In Indore Sewa Bharti commenced its activities in these grim circumstances in the year 1995.
Through single teacher schools its aim is to build a self-reliant society. Great cause and huge task that requires scores of devoted volunteers.

By God's grace numerous young people have joined the stream. Also the society comes forward wholeheartedly to meet the financial requirement.. The noble work is spreading by leaps and bounds.
