Evey year thousands of Vavasies come to Indore for medical assisatance, education,
justice and for earning their meals. They find their abode in the slums of the city.
Sewa Bharti assists them in solving their problems.

Indore is an education city. It has a University as well as numerous colleges and other educational institutes. Thousands of Vanvasi youth come to the city for their higher studies. In Indore too thousands of children dwelling in the slums are deprived of basic education.

The vanvasis who arrive in Indore are faced with endless problems, at times they are even exploited.10 to 12 thousand vanvasis come here for medical assistance every year for check up and treatment of malaria, tuberculosis, skin diseases, cancer, stomach disorder etc. The dearth of medical facilities prevails in the slums too. Provision of medical facilities is amongst the top priorities of Sewa Bharti.
Sewa Bharti helps them in various ways:
- Sends the patient to the appropriate doctor.
- Helps the patient in diagnosis.
- Arranges for medicines with the help of social organizations and people living in the city.
- Makes arrangements of fruits and meals from the families.
- Directing them to the right hospitals, nursing homes and laboratories.
Sewa Bharti has set a mobile hospital in Jhabua and Petlawad.A similar hospital has been planned for slums in the Indore. It will also provide ambulance facilities when required. Sewa Bharti has developed a team of 100 doctors who deliver their services.

Because of inadequate education and various addictions, the frequency of crimes in the slums is quite high. Also insufficient knowledge of law prevents these slum-dwellers from getting justice.
Indore has a labor, district as well as the High court. Also there are district and central jails in Indore.These jails have many prisoners that are “under consideration” and awaiting justice. Their relatives come to visit them.
Sewa Bharti assists them in many ways:

Indore has a population of around 20 lakhs. One fourth of its population dwells in the slums. As there are immense possibilities majority of them earn their living by doing labor-oriented jobs. Mainly labors are required in industries, construction, brick manufacturing, PWD dept., Telecom dept., Municipal Corporation, development authority and in the development of private colonies.
